About the race
The Las Vegas Big Kids Duathlon is scheduled for Friday, October 30, 2026 at the Kellogg Zaher Sports Complex in Las Vegas, NV. The event includes youth short and long duathlon courses, an adult duathlon course, and a Recycle Run for Fun held the same morning.
A mandatory packet pickup for youth and adult participants takes place the day before the race on Thursday, October 29, 2026 at Giant Bike Shop Summerlin. There is an additional $10 fee to register at packet pickup and no race day registration. Parents must be present to sign for a child’s packet. Parents or guardians are asked to attach bike and helmet stickers at home and participants must bring all gear to transition. For safety, participants must walk their bikes in the park and in the transition area.
A kids training program runs from September 14 through October 28 with Monday run sessions meeting at Bonner Elementary and Wednesday bike sessions meeting at Palo Verde High School. Training is for ages 7 to 17, requires the ability to ride without training wheels, and does not include race entry. A parent must volunteer for at least two bike practices. Youth USAT membership can be purchased for an additional fee.
Awards are given overall and by age group for youth short and long courses and for the adult race with first through third place male and female distinctions. Volunteers receive registration refunds or credits and other benefits. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
