Event
The Lake Area Runners present the Swamp Stomp on Saturday, December 13, 2025 in Lake Charles, LA. The event includes:
- Half Marathon (Swamp Stomp 1/2 Marathon)
- 1 Mile Fun Run
The race starts and finishes at Graywood Park (3861 Gray Market Drive). The half marathon course is described as flat and fast and runs through the neighborhoods of the Graywood Plantation community. The 1 Mile Fun Run is an out-and-back course that starts and finishes at the half marathon starting line. There are multiple water stops and port-a-potties along the course. An after party will follow with free food provided by Bolton Ford, refreshments, games, and music.
Logistics
Minimum age for the half marathon is 14 years (must be 14 by December 13, 2025). The 1 Mile Fun Run is open to ages 1 to 99. Packet pickup is offered on Friday, December 12 at Southern Specialty Products (615 E. Prien Lake Road) and on race day at Graywood Plantation Park. Registration fees change by date: $90 (Sept 1 - Oct 31), $95 (Nov 1 - Nov 22), $100 (Nov 23 - Dec 11), $120 (Dec 12 - 13). Awards for the half marathon include overall male and female plus top three in listed age groups; the fun run has overall male and female awards and all participants receive a finisher's medal. Medals and jackets are given to finishers; finishing the half marathon within 4 hours is required to receive the medal and jacket. The event has limited parking at Graywood Golf Club and no parking at Graywood Racquet Club. Volunteers are listed for packet pickup, course water spots, post-race service, and finish-line assistance. The event policy states registrations are non-refundable and non-transferable.
