Laps For Love Backyard Ultra - Wichita, KS
The Laps For Love Backyard Ultra is a community-centered endurance event held at Sedgwick County Park with the start and finish near the Plum Shelter area. The course is a 4.167 mile paved loop with minimal elevation change. The race follows the Backyard Ultra format: a new loop begins every hour on the hour, runners must complete each loop within the hour to continue, and the event continues until only one runner completes a full loop alone.
The event donates $100 from every registration to Family Promise of Greater Wichita. Donations support emergency shelter for families with children, case management and housing stability programs, and rental assistance for longer term independence.
Runners must carry or arrange their own nutrition and supplies. Crews are allowed at the start/finish area and may bring tents, chairs and coolers, but pacers are not permitted. A main aid station at the start/finish will provide water, electrolytes, Ultraverse Supplements Proxima C, and simple hot food options as supplies last. A detailed map for crew sites and other logistics will be shared before race weekend.
