Laps For Love Backyard Ultra
The Laps For Love Backyard Ultra is a community-focused endurance event held at Sedgwick County Park in Wichita, KS. The race follows the traditional backyard ultra format: runners repeatedly complete a 4.167 mile loop and a new loop begins on the hour. Runners must finish each loop within the hour to continue; the event has no preset distance or time limit and continues until only one runner remains.
The loop is on a paved path near the Plum Shelter area and has minimal elevation change. Course details and maps will be shared closer to race weekend, and registered runners may have the opportunity to preview course options in advance.
Runners are expected to bring their own nutrition and supplies. Crews are allowed at the start and finish area; tents, chairs, and personal gear are permitted, but pacers are not allowed. A main aid station will be staffed at the start/finish area and will provide water, electrolytes, Ultraverse Supplements Proxima C, simple hot food as the event progresses, and other items while supplies last.
All runners who complete at least one loop will receive a finisher item, and those who register before the t shirt deadline will receive a t shirt. One hundred dollars from every registration is donated to Family Promise of Greater Wichita to support emergency shelter, case management, rental assistance, and housing stability programs.
