Laps For Love Backyard Ultra
The Laps For Love Backyard Ultra is a community-focused backyard ultra held at Sedgwick County Park near the Plum Shelter area in Wichita, KS. The event uses a repeating loop format with a 4.167 mile loop on a paved path that has minimal elevation change. A new loop starts every hour and runners must complete each loop within the hour to continue. There is no preset distance or time limit; the race continues until only one runner completes a full loop alone.
The event donates $100 from every registration to Family Promise of Greater Wichita to support emergency shelter, case management and housing stability programs, rental assistance, and related services for families with children experiencing homelessness.
Runners must provide their own nutrition and supplies. Crews are allowed at the start and finish area and may bring tents, chairs, coolers, and similar items; pacers are not allowed. A main aid station at the start and finish area will offer water, electrolytes, Ultraverse Supplements Proxima C, and simple hot food options as the race progresses, with other items available while supplies last.
Check-in and mandatory announcements are held on race day, and a detailed course map and crew site information will be shared with registered runners prior to the event.
