Event Overview
The Lap the Lake 5K & Fun Run is a new community event presented by Rend Lake College. This is the first annual edition of the event. Following the race, a Wellness Festival will be held in the Event Center. The festival will include guest speakers, yoga sessions, and a vendor market.
Race Details
The main event is a 5K race. Registration for adults costs $25. Children aged 10 years and under can participate for free. Awards consist of medals for the top three finishers in each age group.
Age groups are: Under 15, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+.
Registration & Logistics
Registration can be completed online, in-person at the Rend Lake College Student Center (room 204), or by mailing a form to the college's Community Education Office. To guarantee a race t-shirt, registration must be received by April 10, 2026.
The event is located at 468 N. Ken Gray Parkway in Ina, Illinois. The event may be canceled due to unsafe weather conditions. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
