Lane Walker Foundation Race
The Lane Walker Foundation Race is an annual running event held in Alma, Michigan. The event marks its 16th anniversary in 2026, offering multiple distances for participants. The race starts and finishes at the Park & Ride located on East Lincoln Road. All courses are paved and accurately measured, and the event features professional chip timing with results posted during the race.
Participants can choose from several distance options:
- Half Marathon (13.1 Miles)
- 10k Run (6.2 Miles)
- 5k Run (3.1 Miles)
- 5k Fun Walk/Run (3.1 Miles)
- Children 12 and under 5k (3.1 Miles)
The competitive distances, including the Half Marathon, 10k, and 5k Run, include a pullover top and a finisher medal in the registration fee. The 5k Fun Walk/Run is a timed category without age divisions or prize placements and includes a t-shirt. Children aged 12 and under can participate in the 5k for free when registered with an adult. To receive a shirt or pullover, registration must be completed by specific deadlines in late September or early October, as these items are not provided for late registrations.
On-site logistics include packet pickup, which opens 45 minutes before each respective race start. The event supports a foundation that assists families with children who have special needs.
