The Laliik Trail Races take place on March 7, 2026 at the Rattlesnake Mountain Recreation Preserve Trailhead near Benton City, WA. Distances offered include:
- 6 Hour
- 10 Mile
- 11K
- 5K
The event is a fundraiser for the Winter Mountain Running Series and for the Rattlesnake Slope Preserve. It is organized by Runners of the Sage.
Course and details
All races are on trails. The 5K is an out-and-back on Aster Gully with about 450 ft of climbing. The 11K is a loop with steep sections, including the Mountain Goat Challenge that climbs 700 ft over 0.43 miles, and about 1400 ft of total ascent. The 10 Mile route has about 1400 ft of climbing. The 6 Hour uses the 11K course as a loop of approximately 6.5 miles and 1400 ft gain per loop; participants complete as many loops as they can in the six-hour event to qualify for a finisher sweatshirt.
Registration closes February 26, 2026. Early pricing applies through December 31; fees increase January 1. T-shirts are included with 10 Mile preregistration; for the 6 Hour, 11K and 5K shirts are available for an extra fee with preregistration. Packet pickup is available the day before in Richland and at the race start on race day. The event is cupless; participants must bring their own water container. Parking is at the trailhead with overflow on the shoulder of Highway 225. All finishers receive a finisher glass; awards are given to the top three overall male and female, and $100 is offered for any new course record.
