Lakewood Summer Meltdown 5K & 1 Mile Family Fun Run and Walk
The Lakewood Summer Meltdown takes place on July 18, 2026, on Detroit Avenue in Downtown Lakewood. The event includes two running events and serves as a fundraiser for LakewoodAlive. The road course passes through historic neighborhoods and offers views of Lake Erie.

The Meltdown 5K is presented as an evening race and includes chip timing, an official race t-shirt, and prizes for top finishers. Live music, food vendors, and a beer garden are located near the end of the course. The 1 Mile Family Fun Run and Walk is intended for participants of all ages and includes a t-shirt with registration.
Registration for both events opens on March 13, 2026 and closes on July 17, 2026. Fees noted by the organizer include $30 for the 5K and $15 for the 1 Mile. The organizer offers a limited early discount for the first 50 5K registrants at $20, a presale rate of $30, and a day of registration rate of $35.
