Event Overview
The Lakeside Ten Mile 5K Fun Run is a community race in the Ten Mile and Watts Bar Lake area of Tennessee. This is the event's fifth annual edition. All proceeds from the race benefit the local Meigs County Volunteer Fire Department.
Course Details
The event is a 5K (3.1 mile) course. It starts in the Ten Mile town area and finishes at Euchee Marina. The route is described as pleasant, featuring gentle hills and views of the lake. The running surface is primarily pavement, with the final few feet on light gravel.
The race is professionally timed by the Knoxville Track Club, and the timing results can be used by competitive runners to qualify for other races.
Participation and Amenities
The event is open to participants aged 8 to 99. It welcomes runners, walkers, participants with baby joggers, and well-behaved, leashed dogs (dogs start after other racers). A transportation shuttle is provided to return participants from the finish line at Euchee Marina back to the start area at Ten Mile until 11:30 AM.
All runners receive a t-shirt and a swag bag. Participants who register by a specified date can guarantee their t-shirt size. Post-race refreshments include doughnuts, bananas, and water.
Awards
Awards are presented after the last finisher. Medals are awarded to the first, second, and third place male and female finishers in eight different age categories. There are also special awards for the overall winners.
Safety and Logistics
