Lakeside Loops 5K and 10K at Stony Creek Metropark
Lakeside Loops is a trail event at Stony Creek Metropark in Shelby Township, Michigan on July 8, 2026. Eastwood Beach is the main gathering area and the start and finish vicinity. The event brings together trail runners, walkers, hikers, and the rucking community on marked trails around the lake.
Distances offered:
- 5K Run/Walk: 3.1 miles
- 10K Run: 6.2 miles
- 10K Ruck: 6.2 miles
Registration includes a soft muscle shirt or tank while supplies last, a finisher medal, chip timing for all entrants, age group awards in running categories, and a post race cookout at Eastwood Beach. The course is a marked trail through Stony Creek Metropark.
The 10K ruck division is described as community focused rather than competitive. There are no awards for ruckers other than a ruck patch, and there are no weigh ins. Weighted items are discretionary; recommended minimum weights are 20 pounds or more for men and 10 pounds or more for women. Ruckers are asked to share the trail respectfully and keep to the right in single file on narrower sections because faster runners may be on course.
Early registration price is $24 through May 24. Higher fees apply from May 25 through July 7, and different fees apply on race day. Participants are responsible for the park vehicle pass. A daily park pass is ten dollars and seniors may receive a discounted pass with proof of age onsite. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
