Event overview
The Lakefront Loop 5K is scheduled for May 3, 2026, at Navy Pier, 600 E. Grand Avenue, Chicago, Illinois. The event includes a 5K Run/Walk and a Kids Dash for children age 8 and under (approximately 250 yards). The 5K course is entirely on Navy Pier and uses the Northwestern Medicine Wellness Way Fitness Trail that encircles the North and South Docks. Dogs and strollers are allowed on the course but are asked to start at the back of the field because the course is narrow. Funds raised support Navy Pier’s mission to provide programs and experiences for guests at no cost.
Logistics and services
Pre race day packet pick up is available on May 1 at the Peoples Energy Welcome Pavilion on Navy Pier; additional packet pick up and registration are available on race day at the same pavilion. Prepaid parking options are offered for pre race day packet pick up and for race morning; participants receive a validation sticker when they pick up their packet. Gear check is not available. A limited number of rentable lockers are offered near pavilion entrances; rental fees listed are $7 (standard), $10 (extra-large), and $15 (jumbo).
Age-group awards are listed for male and female categories: 10 & under; 11 - 14; 15 - 19; 20 - 29; 30 - 39; 40 - 49; 50 - 59; 60 - 69; 70 & over. Kids in the dash receive a race shirt, a ticket to the Centennial Wheel, and Navy Pier sunglasses.
