Lakefront Loop 5K
The Lakefront Loop is a 5K running and walking event taking place at Navy Pier in Chicago. It uses the Northwestern Medicine Wellness Way Fitness Trail that encircles the North and South Docks, making it the only 5K completely contained on the Pier.
Registration is available for the 5K Run/Walk and a shorter Kids Dash for participants age 8 and under. Packet pickup is offered on a pre-race day at the Peoples Energy Welcome Pavilion and on race day at the same location. Every dollar raised supports Navy Pier's mission to offer dynamic experiences and programs for millions of annual guests at no cost.
Course & Logistics
While dogs and strollers are allowed on the course, organizers ask participants with them to start at the back of the group as the course is described as narrow. Gear check will not be available, but a limited number of lockers are available for rent in the Family Pavilion.
Parking at Navy Pier can be prepaid during registration for both the pre-race packet pickup day and race day.
Awards
Awards are presented for the 5K across standard age groups for male and female participants, ranging from 10 & under to 70 & over. Participants in the Kids Dash receive a race shirt, a ticket to the Centennial Wheel, and Navy Pier sunglasses. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
