Lake Tye Challenge : May 30, 2026
The Lake Tye Challenge in Monroe, WA is a timed ultrarunning event held around Lake Tye on May 30, 2026. The event offers 12-hour, 6-hour, and 3-hour race options. Registration opens on January 1, 2026.
Course and race format
The course is a 1.75 mile loop trail around the lake. Participants choose one timed race and run as many laps as possible within that time. Results are based on total completed laps; partial laps are not counted. Tiebreakers use the shortest time to complete a round number of laps.
Logistics, aid and awards
A full aid station is provided at the start/finish area of each lap with water, an electrolyte drink, and energy-rich food. The grass lawn at the start/finish area may be used for personal drop bags or canopies; these must be weighted down and no spikes are allowed. There is direct beach access at the venue for cooling down. Each participant receives a wooden medal/coaster that indicates achievement of specific distances: half marathon (8 laps), marathon (16 laps), 50k (19 laps), 50 miles (30 laps), and 100k (37 laps).
Community and fundraising
The event is a fundraiser for local charities. Past proceeds have supported the Wild Sky Community Trails Association, a not-for-profit 501(c)(3). Donations can be made through the charity’s website or at the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
