Lake Tye Challenge
The Lake Tye Challenge is a timed endurance event held on May 30, 2026, at Lake Tye in Monroe, WA. The course is a 1.70 mile flat paved loop around the lake. The event offers three timed race options: 12 hour, 6 hour and 3 hour runs. Participants may run, jog, or walk the loop.
A full aid station is available at the start and finish of each lap and supplies water, Hammer electrolyte fuel products and a selection of energy rich ultra running food. Chip timing with online tracking is provided by a timing service. Late starts are permitted if the race desk is notified before the official start. Only full laps are counted in the results.
Event facilities include a grass lawn at the start and finish area for personal drop bags and canopies with a no spikes rule, and bag storage at the aid station. There is direct beach access at the venue for cooling down. Each participant receives a wooden medal or coaster and free professional race photos. Special awards are given to the top three male and female finishers.
The event is organized by Sky Valley Trail Runners Association, a nonprofit 501(c)(3). Proceeds are used to improve and maintain the trail network in the Monroe, Sultan, Gold Bar and Index area. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
