Lake Tye Challenge

Event format
The Lake Tye Challenge is a timed ultrarun held on a 1.75 mile loop trail around Lake Tye in Monroe, WA. Participants choose from three timed races and run as many laps as they can within their chosen time. Results are by total completed laps; partial laps are not counted. Tiebreakers use the shortest time to complete a round number of laps. Each participant receives a wooden medal/coaster that can display achieved milestone distances.
- Half marathon - 8 laps
- Marathon - 16 laps
- 50k - 19 laps
- 50 miles - 30 laps
- 100k - 37 laps
Venue and services
The event is located at 14964 Fryelands Blvd, Monroe, WA. A full aid station is available at the loop start/finish with water, electrolyte drink, and energy-rich food. The grass lawn at the start/finish can be used for personal drop bags and canopies; canopies must be weighted down and no spikes are allowed. There is direct beach access for cooling down at the venue. The event is a fundraiser for local charities; past proceeds have gone to the Wild Sky Community Trails Association.
