Lake Tye Challenge
The Lake Tye Challenge is a timed loop race held on June 5, 2027, at Lake Tye in Monroe, WA. The course is a 1.70 mile flat, paved loop around the lake. The event is in its fourth edition and offers multiple timed race options.
Aid is provided at the start and finish area of each lap, including music, water, Hammer electrolyte fuel products and various energy rich "ultra running food". Chip timing with online tracking is provided by chronokeep.com. Late starts after the official mass start are allowed with prior notice to the race desk. Only full laps are counted in the results.
Facilities at the venue include a grass lawn for personal drop bags and canopies with no spikes allowed, bag storage at the aid station, and direct beach access for cooling down during or after the race. Participants receive a wooden medal that doubles as a coaster and free professional race photos. Awards are given to the top three male and top three female finishers. Post race food is available and a post race party with live music takes place at Dreadnaught Brewing.
The event is organized by the Sky Valley Trail Runners Association, a nonprofit 501(c)(3), with proceeds intended for maintaining and improving local trail networks. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
