Lake Scary 5K, Lake Mary FL (October 31, 2026)
Lake Scary 5K is a Halloween-themed running event held in Lake Mary, Florida, with proceeds donated to UCP of Central Florida’s Lake Mary Campus to fund therapy services and support programs. The event was founded and is organized by students at Lake Mary Prep and has raised over $80,000 since 2012.
There are two options:
- 3.1 Miles, Lake Scary 5K on certified chip-timed course
- 3.1 Miles, Run from Home virtual option with no verified times
The on-site 5K uses a chip-timed certified course. The virtual Run from Home allows participants to complete the distance during the event week; virtual times are not published. Registration fee is $35. A t-shirt is provided for runners; pre-registered virtual participants will receive shirts. Finishers receive a themed finisher medal. Runners are encouraged to wear costumes, individually or in coordinated teams, and there are prizes for best dressed runners.
