Lake Scary 5K

The Lake Scary 5K takes place in Lake Mary, Florida on October 31, 2026. The event is Halloween themed and offers both an in-person 5K on a chip timed certified course and a virtual option called Run from Home.

Registration for the in-person 5K opens August 3, 2026 and closes October 24, 2026. Virtual registration opens May 5, 2026 and closes October 31, 2026. The registration fee for both options is $35.

All net proceeds are donated to UCP of Central Florida’s Lake Mary Campus to support therapy services and support programs. The event is founded and organized by students at Lake Mary Prep and has a multi-year fundraising history, with more than $80,000 raised since 2012.

Participants in the in-person event receive a t-shirt and a spooky finisher medal. Costumes are encouraged and prizes are awarded for best dressed runners. For the Run from Home option, times are not published or verified and shirts are available to pre registered virtual participants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
