About the race
The Lake Macquarie Running Festival is a multi-event road running festival held on the Lake Macquarie foreshore at The Esplanade, Warners Bay. The 2026 festival is scheduled for Sunday 13 September 2026 and includes several individual events and on-site services.
Event distances include:
- 21.1 km Half Marathon
- 10.5 km Fun Run
- 4 km Family Scamper
Road closures affect the foreshore area, with detours between Kings Road Warners Bay and Creek Reserve Road Speers Point. Event parking is recommended behind The Esplanade Shops in the John Street carpark.
Race packs must be collected in person and will not be mailed. Pack collection and late registration are offered at local pickup dates and at the event registration tent on The Esplanade. Timing chips are embedded in the race bibs supplied in race packs and do not need to be returned.
On-course support includes three aid stations, with the final station supplying water and isotonic drinks. First aid services are provided by St Johns Ambulance and the Ramsay Health Care ED team. A supervised baggage claim area is available; items require race number and bib verification for collection. Presentation awards and finisher medallions are distributed on site after the event.
