Lake Los Angeles Desert Sunrise 5K
The 1st Annual Lake Los Angeles Desert Sunrise 5K takes place on October 24, 2026 in Lake Los Angeles, Lancaster, California (40038 170th St E, 93591). The event includes four separate 5K events: a run, a walk, a youth run, and a youth walk.
Entry fees and registration windows are listed for each event. Adult run and walk registration opens August 27, 2026 and closes September 24, 2026; youth events open September 1, 2026 and close September 24, 2026. Fees for this edition are $25 for the run, $15 for the walk, $17 for the youth run, and $10 for the youth walk. Youth registrants must be 13 and under.
The course is mostly paved, out-and-back, and features mild elevation changes. The route passes desert buttes, wide open landscapes, and local landmarks with views of the Mojave Desert sunrise. The event accommodates experienced runners, casual runners, walkers, families, and community members of all abilities.
Medals will be awarded to runners and to youth runners for completion of the course. Walkers and youth walkers will not receive medals for this edition. After the events, the program includes community activities such as DJ and speakers, local organization booths, vendor displays, an official photo booth, and face painting.
