Lake Escape 10 km : Loda, IL
The Lake Escape 10 km is a road race held around the twin lakes in Loda, Illinois. The course is a rolling, partially shaded figure 8 that follows local roads around Bayles Lake and Lake Iroquois. Runners begin near the beach at Lake Iroquois, complete a clockwise loop around Bayles Lake, then a counter-clockwise loop around Lake Iroquois and finish with a downhill sprint to the beach.
The event takes place at 140 Shawnee in Loda and is part of a race day that also includes a 5K and a kids 1K. The kids 1K is held near the beach immediately after the conclusion of the 10K. Registration opens on April 17, 2026 and closes on June 20, 2026; the entry fee for the 10K is $25.00.
Awards are presented to the overall male and female in each race and to the top three finishers in the following age groups: under 15, 15 to 19, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, and 70 and over. After the race, participants are welcome to cool off with a swim at the Lake Iroquois beach. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
