FreshChoice Lake Dunstan Trail - Marathon
The FreshChoice Lake Dunstan Trail event takes place on 30th August 2026 along the Lake Dunstan Cycling and Walking Trail. The route runs from Historic Clyde to the Cromwell Heritage Precinct and uses the established trail surface.
Distances offered include:
- 42.2 km Marathon from Historic Clyde to the Cromwell Heritage Precinct
- 21.1 km Half Marathon starting just north of Hugo Bridge
- 10 km starting from Carrick Winery
The trail is described as well groomed with a firm packed cycle trail surface. Approximate elevation gain is 650 m over the 42.2 km course, about 200 m over the 21 km course, and less than 100 m over the 10 km course.
Aid stations are located approximately every 4 km and supply water, Tailwind sports drink, chips and lollies. Runners receive a reusable collapsible silicone cup in their race pack; there will be no disposable cups at aid stations. The reusable cup and race number are the only required kit items. Participants may use a running vest or belt with soft flasks if desired.
Entry fees vary by distance and registration date. The half marathon fee includes a boat ride to Hugo Bridge. Refunds are available on a sliding scale up to two weeks before the event.
