Lake District Duathlons - Grasmere

Event overview
The Lake District Duathlons take place on 29 March 2026 at The Showfield, Stock Lane, Grasmere, Cumbria (what3words ///warned.baseless.flats). The run legs follow paths and trails around Grasmere village and the lake. Cycle routes run from Grasmere towards Elterwater for the Sprint course and towards Hawkshead and Coniston for the Standard course. The event also includes separate 5 km and 10 km trail runs.
Race format and logistics
- Sprint Duathlon: Run 5 km, Cycle 20 km, Run 2.5 km
- Standard Duathlon: Run 10 km, Cycle 40 km, Run 5 km
- Sprint and Standard relays are offered, and separate 5 km and 10 km trail runs are available.
A secure transition area is provided for competitors; race and bike numbers correspond to racking spots, small bags or boxes are permitted inside transition, bike number must be attached and helmet visible before entering, and bib and bike numbers will be checked before exiting. Live chip timing is provided by Timing Up North. All finishers receive Wild Deer merchandise, an event medal, and a drink and snack. An event T-shirt is available to purchase for £12. Parking on site is limited; some competitors may need to use nearby public parking. Route maps are available to view and download. Registration opens 31 March 2025 and closes 24 March 2026.
