La Garita 200, South Fork CO
The La Garita 200 is a 200 miles mountain race held in South Fork, Colorado, organized by Tempest Adventures on August 19, 2026. The course is a large loop that starts and finishes at the same location, with a small section of a few miles run as an out and back to connect the loop.
The route follows the Rio Grande river from the start and continues through the La Garita mountains. The course reaches elevations just under 13,000 feet and passes through a sequence of environments: arid pine forests, alpine tundra, and large mountain parks. After making a large circuit, the route returns over tundra to finish back at the start in South Fork.
