Event Overview
La Chute du Diable takes place in Saint-Mathieu-du-Parc, in the Mauricie region. This trail running event features courses through the Parc récréoforestier de Saint-Mathieu-du-parc and the Mastigouche Wildlife Reserve (SEPAQ). The event operates under a Zero Cup policy.
Courses and Distances
The event offers several distances with different profiles:
- 1 km: A loop course starting and finishing at the Parc récréoforestier Amphitheatre.
- 10 km: A loop featuring 350 m of positive elevation gain.
- 22 km: A special course design combining a loop and an out-and-back, with 1,000 m of elevation gain.
- 35 km: A linear course with 1,250 m of elevation gain starting at Accueil Pins rouges.
- 50 km: A linear route with 1,550 m of elevation gain starting at Camping du lac St-Bernard.
- 75 km: The longest linear distance with 2,600 m of elevation gain and a drop bag service.
Logistics and Regulations
The use of poles is permitted only for the 35 km, 50 km, and 75 km distances. For races ranging from 22 km to 75 km, specific time limits (cut-offs) are enforced at aid stations or the finish line.
Access to the main Amphitheatre site is strictly via free shuttle buses. Parking is available at Carrière Forget (2-3 min shuttle ride) and Vallée-du-Parc ski center (25-30 min shuttle ride). No dogs are allowed on the shuttles, though the site can be reached on foot via a 1.3 km path from the Carrière Forget parking area. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
