Défi de la Tortue : overview
The event takes place at Parc de la rivière Grand-Mère (690 11e Avenue, Grand-Mère, QC). Participants try to cover as many kilometers as possible on a closed 795 meter loop during timed formats of 6 hours or 12 hours. A marathon option is offered with a 12 hour completion window. Team entries are for groups of four, with only one runner or walker on the track at a time. A children’s mini event is also included.
All finishers receive a medal and a participation certificate. On-site refreshments and snacks include water, X1 pro endurance drink, bananas, pretzels, chips, gummy candies, white bread and peanut butter, among other items. A post-event spaghetti meal is provided free to participants; guests may attend for a fee.
The event policy states no refunds except in case of cancellation. Registration must be completed by the stated deadline or until participant capacity is reached. Registration includes acknowledgement of the risks of running and a release of liability. For certain specific formats, laps are not counted by the volunteer team for the Pace du Bonheur.
