Event details

The Kusam Klimb takes place near Sayward, British Columbia, at the Salmon River Guesthouse on Saturday, June 20, 2026. The main course is a 24 km loop that goes up and over the back of Mt. H’Kusam and down the Stowe Creek watershed. The event has exclusive access to Bill’s Trail and is held close to the summer solstice. Registration opens December 15, 2025.

Logistics and rules

The full Klimb has four fully stocked aid stations; the Mini Klimb has two. Participants are asked to bring a reusable cup or bottle because aid stations will not provide disposable cups. Bib pickup requires a government-issued photo ID and a wristband is issued for food and drinks. Pre-race coffee and pancakes and a post-race BBQ are provided on site.

There are cutoffs at several checkpoints: Bill’s Aid Station (3.5 km) - 1 hour 15 minutes; Kabin (8.75 km) - 7 hours; Springer Creek (16.2 km) - 9 hours; Cottonwood (19.2 km) - 10 hours 30 minutes; finish - 12 hours. Mini Klimb finish cutoff is 11 hours; two Mini checkpoints have no cutoff. Entrants must be 14 years or older; 14 to 16 year olds must be accompanied by a registered adult for the full event. No children under 14 are permitted. No support crews or motorized access are allowed on the mountain. Hiking poles are permitted. Parking is available at the venue and along Sayward Road.
