Event

The Kusam Klimb takes place near Sayward, British Columbia, on June 20, 2026. The event base is Salmon River Guesthouse at 909 Sayward Road. Registration opens December 15, 2025. The race uses Bill’s Trail and runs close to the summer solstice.

Course, logistics and rules

The full Klimb is a loop that goes up and over the back of Mt. H’Kusam and down the Stowe Creek watershed. The Mini Klimb reaches the first aid station and follows the Cottonwood Loop to the finish. The full course has four fully stocked aid stations; the Mini Klimb has two. Participants must bring a reusable cup or bottle because no disposable cups are provided.

Entrants must be at least 14 years old. Persons aged 14 to 16 must be accompanied by a registered adult for the full duration of the race. Entrants under 18 require a parent or guardian signature. No children under 14 are permitted. No support crew or spectators are allowed on the mountain or at aid stations, and there is no motorized vehicle access on the mountain during the event. Hiking poles are allowed.

Runners must show a government-issued photo ID to collect bibs and wristbands. Pre-race pancakes and coffee and a post-race BBQ with beer are provided on site. The event enforces aid station and finish cutoffs, with a 12-hour overall limit for the full Klimb. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
