About the race
The Kusam Klimb takes place Saturday, June 19, 2027, in Sayward, British Columbia. The event uses Bill’s Trail and follows a loop that climbs the back of Mt. H’Kusam and descends the Stowe Creek watershed. It is held near the summer solstice and uses the field at Salmon River Guesthouse for race operations.
Distances offered:
- Kusam Klimb about 24 to 26 km with over 1,500 m elevation gain
- Mini Klimb 13 km, 491 m elevation
The full route has four fully stocked aid stations; the Mini Klimb has two. Aid stations will not provide disposable cups, so participants should bring a reusable cup or bottle. The event enforces an overall 12 hour cutoff and has additional aid station cutoffs that are strictly enforced.
Access and logistics note that parking is organized near the Salmon River Campground entrance and that there is no parking at the campground unless registered to camp. Support crews and spectators are not allowed on the mountain or at aid stations, and motorized vehicle access on the mountain is prohibited. Hiking poles are permitted. Entrants must be at least 14 years old; 14 to 16 year olds must be accompanied by a registered adult for the full duration and entrants under 18 require a parent or guardian signature.
