Kunanyi Mountain Run 2026
Kunanyi Mountain Run is a three day trail festival held 27 to 29 March 2026 in Nipaluna / Hobart, Lutruwita / Tasmania. The event is presented by SALOMON and produced by Trail Ventures, and features on-course running and cultural activities at the Runhub.
The program includes a range of events for adults and children, cultural mountain walks, and training runs in the lead up to the festival. The Palawa community are acknowledged as the traditional owners of the land and contribute cultural elements including a Cultural Mountain Walk of about 1.5 hours return. Kids runs are offered for ages 5 to under 15.
Distances and main events:
- Ultra Solo: 66 km, 3,780 m± elevation
- Ultra Relay: 66 km total, six legs 7 km to 12 km
- Alpine Marathon: 46 km, 2,360 m± elevation
- Mountain Run / Walk: 25 km, 1,560 m± elevation
- Foothills races: 5 km, 9 km, 14 km with varied elevation
- Vertical Downhill: 9 km, 1,150 m descent
- Kids runs: ages 5 to U15
Qualification and event services: The Ultra Solo and Alpine Marathon require prior running experience and specific qualifying performances recorded since 1 January 2023. Registrations include race entry, a finishers medal and merchandise, marked courses, aid stations for selected races, on-course photos, drop bags, professional timing and medical support, and access to Runhub cultural activities.
