KultureCity Birmingham Race 2026
The KultureCity Birmingham Race is scheduled for November 21, 2026 in Birmingham, Alabama. This is the third annual running of the event and it supports KultureCity’s mission for sensory accessibility and inclusion for people with sensory needs and invisible disabilities.
Distances offered:
- 5K
- 13.1 miles (Half Marathon)
Both the 5K and the Half Marathon begin in front of the Powell Steam Plant, the future site of the National Accessibility Park. Both courses are chip timed and are described as flat. A virtual option is available for participants who prefer to run remotely. The event is designated sensory accessible and onsite support is provided for attendees who need accommodations.
Race operations include pacers for the half marathon, cheer stations and water stations along the course, and a Race Celebration Village after the finish. Volunteers help staff the course and stations. Awards are given for top finishers and age groups, including top three overall men and women, masters (age 50 and above), and multiple age-group categories; there is also an award for the largest team. All finishers in both distances receive a commemorative medal. Awards are based on chip time and overall winners are not eligible for age-group awards.
