Kona Chocolate Run
The Kona Chocolate Run takes place on Belle Isle in Detroit, Michigan. The event features a variety of flat road courses that offer views of the Detroit Skyline, the Ambassador Bridge, the Gordie Howe Bridge, and Windsor, Canada. The race routes are located within the state park and do not require participants to navigate vehicle traffic.
Participants can choose from several distances:
- 800m Fun Run
- 5k
- 10k
- 15k
The event includes a post-race chocolate buffet with multiple themed stations. These stations serve items such as hot chocolate, baked goods, chocolate carved on-site, chocolate milk, ice cream, and a dipping station. Finisher medals are awarded to those who complete their respective courses. Additionally, the top three overall participants and the top three finishers in each age group receive specific awards.
Registration includes the possibility of receiving a specialized jacket for the first 600 people who sign up. The venue is located near downtown Detroit, providing access to local activities following the conclusion of the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
