Kokoda Challenge - Brisbane

The Kokoda Challenge Brisbane is a team endurance event held on 13 June 2026 in D'Aguilar National Park, with the start and finish at Brookfield Recreation Reserve. Teams of two to five people complete marked courses through Brookfield, often on steep and hilly fire trails and bush tracks that include creek crossings and sustained climbs. The event runs in all weather conditions and includes checkpoints and time limits for each course.

Teams must meet a minimum fundraising target before event day to support the Kokoda Youth Foundation, which funds youth programs. The event also honours the values and history associated with the 1942 Kokoda Campaign.

Registration fees and minimum fundraising amounts vary by distance and team size. Examples: a 2-person team fee is $180 for the 18 km course and $200 for the 30 km course; 48 km fees start at $315 for a 3-person team. Solo entries are not permitted.

Course specifics:

  • 18 km: 9 hour limit, 1 checkpoint, no support crew, minimum age 9
  • 30 km: 12 hour limit, 3 checkpoints, no support crew, minimum age 10
  • 48 km: 20 hour limit, 6 checkpoints, 1 support crew, minimum age 13

Support crews are strongly recommended for the 48 km course and may meet teams at designated checkpoints. Course maps and further event details are provided to participants closer to the event date. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
