The Kitty Kat Haven & Rescue 5K Meow-A-Thon and 1 Mile Whisker Walk is a fundraising run and walk held Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Veterans Park on Valleydale in Birmingham, AL. The event includes two distances:

The course at Veterans Park uses varied terrain, including fields, trails and pavement. The event is held rain or shine; in the event of severe weather organizers may operate on a delay. Prizes are planned for overall male and female 1st through 3rd in the 5K and for male and female age-group 1st through 3rd finishers.

The event benefits Kitty Kat Haven & Rescue, a no-kill, cage-free shelter for cats and kittens. The shelter describes placing over 800 cats in homes in the past year and reporting a 98% live release rate annually.

- 5K online: $25; children 10 and under: $15
- 1 mile online: $15; children 10 and under: $5 Day-of entry fees are higher for both events. Packet pickup is available the day before at the shelter location and on race morning at Veterans Park. Race shirts are available through the event store and must be picked up at the shelter or on race day; shipping is not offered.
