Kirkintilloch Aquathlon, Youth and Adult (incl Go Tri)
The Kirkintilloch Aquathlon is organised by Glasgow Triathlon Club and governed by Triathlon Scotland. The event combines a pool swim immediately followed by a run and is contested in heats arranged by age group. It takes place at Kirkintilloch Leisure Centre with the run routed around the park in front of the centre.
Entries are available for age groups TriStar Start, TriStar 1, TriStar 2, TriStar 3, Youth and Adult. Race categories are Female or Open. Only people who are female sex at birth are eligible for the Female category. All individuals including transgender people are eligible to compete in the Open category.
Distances by age group:
- TriStar Start (age 8): Swim 50m, Run 600m
- TriStar 1 (ages 9 to 10): Swim 150m, Run 1500m
- TriStar 2 (ages 11 to 12): Swim 250m, Run 2000m
- TriStar 3 (ages 13 to 14): Swim 400m, Run 3000m
- Youth (ages 15 to 16): Swim 400m, Run 3000m
- Adult (age 17 and above): Swim 400m, Run 3000m
An entry includes a race memento, a snack after finishing, personalised trophies for the first three in each age group, event photography with images provided free of charge, and electronic chip timing. Participants come from across the country and sometimes from across the border. The closing date for entries is 30 August 2026. Withdrawals before 23 August 2026 receive a 50 percent refund; no refund is available after that date. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
