Kirkcudbright Half Marathon & Buckland Burn Up
The event takes place on 23 May 2026 in Kirkcudbright. It features multiple races starting from Hope Dunbar Park, accessible from St Cuthbert's Street near the town centre. Parking at the park is limited, especially after 10:00, but free parking is available in the town.
The available races are:
- Half Marathon for runners and walkers
- Buckland Burn Up, a 5 mile road race
- Juniors Fun Run, a route of roughly 1 km around the park and town
- Mini's Dash, a free, on-the-day run for children aged 4 and under (parental supervision required)
Walkers for the half marathon start one hour earlier than runners. The routes are described as scenic, with sea-side views, woodland settings, and farmland around the harbour town. Strict rules apply: no headphones are allowed, and participants must keep left unless directed otherwise. The event is organized by Kirkcudbright Summer Festivities.
