Kinzua Bridge Challenge
The Kinzua Bridge Challenge takes place in Mount Jewett, Pennsylvania. The event utilizes the Knox & Kane Rail Trail, with the start and finish lines located at the Center Street Trailhead. Participants follow an out and back course on the Mt. Jewett to Kinzua Bridge Rails to Trails.
Participants can choose from several distances:
- 10 km running race
- 5 km running race
- 2 miles walking only event
- 1 mile run for participants aged 14 and under
The event utilizes a staggered start, and all distances use the same trail course. Personnel are stationed along the route to direct racers at their respective turn points. Finishers receive medals upon completing their event, and those who register by July 13th, 2026, are provided with a T-shirt. Professional chip timing and registration management are provided for the races.
The proceeds from the event benefit the Swedish Festival Association. These funds support the Penn York Oil and Gas Scholarship at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford for students in Energy Science majors. Additional funds are used for community revitalization, education, and economic development in the Mount Jewett area. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
