About the race
The Kings County Turkey Trot is a Thanksgiving Day running and walking event in downtown Hanford on November 26, 2026. The course runs around downtown Douty Street with an out-and-back segment on Douty and returns to a larger finish line venue near Superior Dairy and Civic Center Park.
Distances and races:
- 5K chip timed race
- 3K walk
- Kids races 1/4 mile and 1/2 mile
Medals are awarded to the top 20 male and top 20 female 5K finishers; those awards require registration in the 5K chip timed race. Additional event recognitions include a Biggest Flock Award for the largest team or group with a tie breaker for best dress, and a Best Dressed Turkey Award for costume participants.
Registration details list opening and closing dates and set fees for each event: the 5K, the 3K walk, and the Kids Race. Packet pick up is scheduled for Tuesday November 24 and Wednesday November 25 from 9 AM to 6 PM at 311 N Douty Street, Champions Corporate Office. On Thanksgiving morning packet pick up will open early at the event site.
