Kings County Turkey Trot
The Kings County Turkey Trot is a community running and walking event held in downtown Hanford on Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 2026. The event is organized by Champions Recovery Alternative Programs, Inc., and benefits local recovery programs.
The course is described as scenic and runs through downtown Hanford. The 5K follows a route that splits and includes an out-and-back segment on Douty Street. 3K walkers follow a route that returns to the common finish area. The finish line venue near 325 N Douty Street is expanded to provide space for spectators and gatherings.
Awards and team recognition are included. Medals are awarded to the top 20 male and top 20 female 5K finishers who are registered in the 5K chip timed race. A Biggest Flock Award recognizes the largest team or group, with a tie-breaker based on best dressed.
Kids races consist of a 1/4 mile fun race and a 1/2 mile fun race. Children who run in the kids races may also participate in the 3K walk or join family members on the 5K.
Packets are available for pick-up the Tuesday and Wednesday before the race at 311 N Douty Street, Champions Corporate Office. The event takes place rain or shine. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
