K.I.A. Memorial Roadmarch - Orchard Park, NY
The K.I.A. Memorial Roadmarch is a community walking and running event held at Chestnut Ridge Park in Orchard Park, New York. Participants may march, run, walk, or crawl in either a roughly five mile Roadmarch or a separate 10K individual challenge. Events include options to carry rucks (backpacks) filled with non-perishable goods; participants may also donate before the event instead of carrying weight. Organizers request a minimum donation of 30 pounds; see rules about weight for certain categories.
The event is open to current and retired military, first responders, and civilians. Registration includes weigh-ins and packet pick up on site, and teams can be created or joined during registration. The team with the largest number of finishers wins the KMR BAT Cup; the winning team name is inscribed on the trophy and the team receives a smaller replica to keep.
Finish medals are provided, a T-shirt is available for the first 100 registrants, and a challenge medal is offered to those registered for the challenge. The event features vendors, live music, a photo booth, and food service after the march. Volunteer and vendor check-in is provided, and a virtual race app can be used to track and upload verified times. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
