Kennedy Kids Foundation 5K
The Kennedy Kids Foundation presents its 5th annual 5K at Barry University in Miami Shores, Florida. The event includes both an in person 5K run and a Virtual 5K Run/Walk option. Registration fee for either option is $35.00, with registration open well before the event.
The in person race is professionally timed with chip tracking and real-time results provided by event timing partners. Every finisher receives a finisher medal. Cash prizes are awarded to the first place male and female overall, and awards are presented for first, second, and third place male and female finishers in each age division.
Amenities listed for the event include onsite restrooms, vendor partner tables, and parking on the Barry University campus. Regular parking rates are $2 per hour or $10 for the full day; premium parking rates are $3 per hour or $15 for the full day. The course uses nearby streets and will involve temporary road closures on local avenues and streets around the campus.
The organizing foundation focuses on teen mental health, including fundraising and program development aimed at suicide prevention, mental health education, increased help-seeking behavior, and equitable access to care. Volunteer opportunities are available, with more than 100 volunteers needed to support pre-race and race day activities. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
