Kennedy Kids Foundation 4th Annual 5K & 8K
The event is a community run hosted at Barry University in Miami Shores with both in-person and virtual participation options. Distances offered include:
- 5K in-person and virtual
- 8K in-person and virtual
Real-time chip timing will be used for results tracking by Split Second Timing and Wildside. Awards include finisher medals, medals for first through third place by male and female age groups, and $500 in cash prizes for overall places. A post-race community area will offer family-friendly activities and an awards presentation.
Logistics provided by the organizer include race day parking on campus and free parking in the South Landon Lot on North Miami Avenue. Restrooms are available on site. Early packet pickup is available the day before at a local running store at 5050 Biscayne Blvd #103, Miami, FL.
The event is organized by a foundation that funds programs and initiatives focused on youth mental health education, help-seeking behavior, and equitable access to care. The race was created in memory of a young person who experienced a mental health crisis. Temporary road closures will occur on nearby streets for the in-person course.
