2026 Kenai River Marathon - 20th Anniversary
The Kenai River Marathon takes place in Kenai, Alaska, and commemorates its 20th anniversary in 2026. This sporting event is organized by the Kenai Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Center in partnership with the City of Kenai. The course is marked with arrows and traffic cones, guiding participants through the local area on a mix of paved roads and wooded trails.
Participants can choose from several event formats:
- Full Marathon
- Half Marathon
- 4 Member Relay Marathon
- 5K Fun Run/Walk
The event serves a charitable purpose, as a portion of the proceeds is dedicated to the development of parks and recreation within and around Kenai. Due to scheduled road construction, the 2026 edition of the marathon is not a Boston Qualifier.
Registration for the event opens on January 1, 2026, and closes on September 15, 2026. There is no registration available on the day of the race. All participants must collect their race bibs at the Kenai Chamber of Commerce. Bib pickup is available on the Friday and Saturday preceding the race, as well as on Sunday morning at the Kenai Visitor Center. No bib pickup is permitted at the actual start line.
