Kearney Family YMCA Turkey Trot & Gobble Wobble
The Kearney Family YMCA Turkey Trot & Gobble Wobble is the 24th annual community running event held at the Kearney Family YMCA, 4500 6th Avenue, Kearney, Nebraska, on November 26, 2026. The event includes a children’s Gobble Wobble and two measured races, and features official chip timing by TIMERGUYS.
Event logistics are described for participants and volunteers. Parking is not permitted at the YMCA; additional parking is available at eFree Church and the Presbyterian Church. The course is marked with arrows on the ground and route volunteers wear Turkey Trot shirts and neon vests. Water is provided at Country Club Lane/running trail on the 5 mile course and at the finish area. Lead bikes and SAG bikes are provided for both races.
Timing and results are managed with disposable chips attached to race numbers; results are available at the finish line and online via TIMERGUYS and the Kearney Family YMCA Facebook page. Awards are given to the top three female and male runners in each race, with two TOP DOG awards for first place dogs in each race. All participants receive a medal at the finish line.
The Gobble Wobble is a pre-race children’s event of approximately one mile for ages 12 and under and is free. New this year is family pricing for parties of five or more; participants should contact the YMCA for details. Pets and strollers are permitted with a request that those participants start toward the back of the pack. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
