Kearney Family YMCA Turkey Trot & Gobble Wobble
The Kearney Family YMCA Turkey Trot & Gobble Wobble is the 24th annual community running event held at the Kearney Family YMCA, 4500 6th Avenue, Kearney, NE. The event includes multiple distances and a family-friendly kid race.
- Gobble Wobble approximately one mile, for children age 12 and under, free
- 2 mile race
- 5 mile race
Entry fees apply for the 2 mile and 5 mile races and vary by registration period, and there is family pricing available for parties of five or more. Chip timing is used, with disposable chips attached to the back of race numbers; official results are posted at the finish area, on the Kearney Family YMCA Facebook page, and on Timerguys.com.
Course details: the route is marked with arrows on the ground and staffed by volunteers wearing event shirts and neon vests. Water is provided at Country Club Lane/running trail on the 5 mile course and at the finish area. Lead bikes and SAG bikes are provided for both races. Parking is not permitted at the YMCA; additional parking is available at eFree Church and the Presbyterian Church, and participants are asked not to park on 7th Street.
Awards: top three female and male finishers in each race receive awards, two top dog awards are given for first place dogs, and all finishers receive a medal. Pets and strollers are welcome and are requested to start toward the back of the pack. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
