Karoo Poison 2026
Karoo Poison is the sixth edition of a gravel bike and trail running event held at Leeuwenboschfontein Guest Farm in the Nougaspoort area above the Koo valley. The event takes place on 5 September 2026 and is organised by Koo Primary School. It is presented as a family friendly event with activities for adults and children, food stalls and entertainment.
Available race types include gravel cycling, trail running and a toddler run with on-the-day registration for the toddler category. Distances offered cover a range for different abilities and ages. The 52 km gravel route includes a small loop of about 14 km, with approximately 2 km of sandy terrain that is rideable on gravel bikes but also suitable for mountain bikes; the remainder is two-track road.
Additional event details note on-site registration across the event weekend and that online entries close on 1 September, with late entries accepted on race day. The first 200 entries receive goodie bags. Leeuwenboschfontein Guest Farm offers campsites and self-catering units for attendees who wish to book accommodation near the venue.
