The format includes one graveyard shift as part of the race program.
Format and organiser
Racing is team-based, for teams of four or more. Runners complete repeated looped legs rather than running together as a full team. Example loop distances used in past editions include:
- 6 km
- 9 km
- 12 km
The event is organised by the Princetown Institute of Sport, a not-for-profit group that developed the relay following experience running the Kangaroobie Klassic. The organiser describes the event as emphasising repeated returns to a central base camp and a mix of longer overall distance with fewer disciplines and more transitions compared with their other events.
