About the race
Kaikōura Mountains to Sea is a community running event in Kaikōura on 24 October 2026. The event raises funds for Kaikōura High School and Kaikōura Lions and is organised by Mountains To Sea Marathon. The course traditionally crosses the peninsula, follows the beach and climbs toward Mount Fyffe.
For 2026 the full marathon distance will not be offered because flood damage affected parts of the marathon trail. The event retains the shorter distances and a teams event for the 21 km distance with two-person teams. Entries already made for the 42 km or marathon teams will be eligible for a refund or for transfer to a different event with a partial refund.

- 21 km run or walk and 21 km teams of 2
