Kahnawake’s Backyard Ultra – The Meltdown
The event takes place on July 18, 2026 at Kahnawake Marina. This is the second edition of the local Backyard Ultra. Runners complete a 6.7 km loop every hour and repeat the loop until only one runner remains in the field.
A cash prize will be awarded to the winner. Funds raised will be donated to Tetewatatia’takéhnhahs / Purple Ribbon Walk and used to help offset organization fees.
Race day programming includes on-site music and a basic aid station offering water and essential items. Runners and crew are asked to bring their own gear for rest periods, such as tents, chairs, coolers, and personal snacks or meals. A headlamp is recommended for anyone running into the evening or overnight for visibility and safety.
