About the race
Kaarinan Syysmaraton is a road race held on an approximately 10.5 km loop through Kaarina and Piikkiö. The event offers three officially measured distances: 10 km, half marathon and marathon. The race centre and competition office are located at Kaarinan Liikuntahalli, Veitenmäentie 29, Kaarina.
Distances:
- 10 km
- Half marathon
- Marathon
Age and competition categories are provided for all distances, including overall and age group classes (M/N and M45/N45, M55/N55, M65/N65; 10 km includes P17/T17). Children can run informal short loops of about 150 m or about 500 m in the finish area; these runs are free and do not require prior registration. First time marathon runners who register by the specified date are eligible for a special recognition. Entry fees are tiered by date and Juoksijakortti status, and participation is non refundable though transfers are allowed by a stated deadline.
Facilities include indoor changing rooms and showers at Valkeavuoren Liikuntahalli, free supervised baggage storage in the hall, limited parking with guidance to Veitenmäentie 29 and additional parking at Ammattiopisto Livia. Time limits are six hours for the marathon and five hours for the 10 km and half marathon. Electronic timing records both net and gross times; finishers are video recorded to verify order if needed.
There are three aid stations: two on the loop and one at the finish; drinks include the TailWind mandarin‑orange endurance drink at roughly 5% strength, water and warm juice, plus banana and salted cucumber. Own drinks may be brought and must be delivered to the competition office by the stated time. All finishers receive a wooden laser‑engraved medal introduced in 2022. Course record bonuses and age group prizes are awarded, with additional prize draws for prepaid entrants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
