Junebug Jog
Junebug Jog is a community road race held in Winfield, Kansas, with events that start and end in the south parking lot at Winfield High School (300 N Viking Blvd). Courses run mostly on residential streets and include specific turnaround points and water stations.
Event distances include:
- Junebug Jog 10k: 6.2 miles
- Junebug Jog 5k: 3.1 miles
- Junebug Jog 1-mile: 1 mile
- Junebug Jog 5k + 1-mile bundle: 4.1 miles total
- Jr. Junebug 100m Dash: 100 meters for ages 8 and under
Course details: the 10k follows two slightly different loops with a water station on each loop located at the Kansas Veterans Home. The 5k has a turnaround at the Kansas Veterans Home, with one water station and mile splits announced along the route. The 1-mile has its turnaround at TP Hales Rd. The junior 100-meter dash takes place on the Joe Vann track at Winfield High School.
Race features and extras include t-shirts, race bibs, finisher medals and printed finish line photos for the main races, snacks and refreshments at the finish line, placer medals in multiple age groups, and door prize drawings after the events. For 2026 the event highlights a patriotic theme with a Most Patriotic costume contest and a $1 donation per participant to the Kansas Veterans Home Benefit Fund.
