Event Overview
Julia's Warriors Run For Hope is a fundraising event held in memory of Julia Bargman, who passed away from breast cancer. The event aims to raise awareness for early breast cancer detection and funds for research. Proceeds are donated to the Saint Luke's Foundation Center for Women's Care and the Julia Bargman Hope Foundation.
Event Format and Location
The event takes place at Smithville Lake. The start and finish area is at Little Platte Beach, which offers ample parking. The course involves a section of road running before transitioning to paved trails around the lake.
Participants can choose from three events:
- 5K run
- 1 Mile walk
- Virtual 5K
A post-race breakfast is available by donation at the nearby American Legion Building, prepared by volunteers from the Sons of the American Legion Squadron 58.
Additional Details
Teams of four or more participants are encouraged, with special discounts offered. Awards are presented after the 5K for the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as the top three male and female finishers in each 10-year age group category. A "Traveling trophy" is mentioned for teams.
