Julia's Warriors Run for Hope
Julia's Warriors Run for Hope is the 16th annual community running event held in Smithville, Missouri at Little Platte Swim Beach. The event features a 5K run and a 1 mile walk and was established as a living testament to a person who experienced a long battle with breast cancer.
Distances:
- 5K race
- 1 mile walk
Team registration is offered for groups of four or more at a discounted price, with the team registration period closing on October 7 at midnight; team registration is not available at packet pickup or on race day. Packet pickup is scheduled on the Thursday before the race at Grace Community Church and also available on race morning at the race site.
Course records are listed for the male and female overall winners: 15:32 for men in 2014 and 19:19 for women in 2016. Prizes are awarded to the top three overall male and female finishers. Custom race medals are given to everyone who crosses the finish line.
Participants may purchase a pink ribbon through the event store to honor someone affected by any type of cancer; these ribbons are intended to line the course. If the race is canceled for inclement weather or other safety reasons determined by the race committee, Clay County, or the US Army Corps of Engineers, there will be no refunds.
