29th Annual Jug Bay Run/Walk for Wildlife

The Jug Bay Run/Walk for Wildlife is an annual benefit event that raises funds for conservation, research, and education in the Patuxent River watershed. The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission’s Patuxent River Park and the Maryland Department of Natural Resources Merkle Wildlife Sanctuary together protect more than 3,500 acres along the Patuxent River, home to a variety of native wildlife. Proceeds from the run and walk support projects, research, conservation, and education in this watershed.

The course follows the Chesapeake Bay Critical Area Driving Tour route and runs along the banks of the Patuxent River. The route is mostly flat and uses paved and dirt roads. Water stations are placed along the racecourse. Race finish-line procedures and official results for the 10K and 5K are handled by a professional timing service.

Registration opens on September 1. The event is categorized under Health & Wellness, Nature & Outdoor, and Walks/Runs.
