About Joy in Action
Joy in Action is a nationwide fundraising challenge that includes running, walking, and cycling. The event supports The Joy Smith Foundation’s efforts to prevent human trafficking and provide assistance to survivors across Canada.
Event Categories
Participants can choose from different types of activities depending on their preferences:
- Timed Competitive Runs: These races include awards for top overall finishers and specific age group categories.
- Fun Run / Walks: Non-competitive routes featuring optional stations and awards for community spirit.
- Cyling: A scenic ride from Selkirk Park to Netley Creek designed for cyclists of all experience levels.
Locations and Participation
Official community events take place in specific locations:
- Steinbach
- Brandon
- Selkirk
Registration is available for all ages, with youth between 13 and 18 receiving a discount. Children aged 12 and under can register at no cost when joined by a registered adult. The event operates on a tiered pricing system with early registration options. Timed competitive events require an additional fee to cover operational costs.
