The course starts and finishes on the West Plains Junior High bus lane and follows neighborhood streets including Paragon Drive, Thunder Road, Alliance Drive, Challenge Drive, Excel Avenue, Progress Drive, and Learning Tree Avenue before returning to the school bus lane. Racing wheelchair and handcycle divisions are included and have participant limits.
Funds raised support scholarships and local needs. In Spring 2025 the event awarded $30,000 in scholarships, bringing the five-year total to $135,000. A program called John Michael’s Closet raised $2,500 and provided running shoes to 12 Amarillo-area student-athletes.
