Jogging for Max and Jude 5K
The World Down Syndrome Day 5k: Jogging for Max and Jude is an annual community event held in Griffin, Georgia. Now in its 12th year, the event is organized by More Alike Than Different with the objective of raising awareness and support for Down Syndrome.
The event features a central gathering point at the Taylor Street Gym and Cafeteria. Participants gather to see the introduction of the Grand Marshalls, who are individuals with Down Syndrome, before the race begins. The course is open to both runners and walkers.
Available distances include:
- 5 km walk or run (in-person)
- 5 km virtual run (phantom runner option)
The virtual runner option allows participants living outside of the local area to complete the 3.1 miles from any location. Past editions of the event have included participants from international locations such as Great Britain, China, Argentina, Germany, and Japan.
Each registration includes a race t-shirt. To guarantee receiving a shirt in the preferred size, participants must complete their registration by February 27th. For those who do not register by this date, a limited number of extra shirts may be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Pre-race packet pick-up is organized a day prior to the main event at Journey Church on East Solomon Street. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
