JMS 5k Race

The event is a 5K running race held in Marion, Iowa on April 6, 2027. The course is an out and back on the Indian Creek Trail. The start and finish are located in the Linn-Mar High School parking lot at 3111 10th St, Marion, IA 52302. The advertised distance is 5K (3.1 miles).

The race is presented in memory of a longtime race director and race timer who served the local running community. Awards are planned for the top male and female overall and for the top three males and top three females in each age group. Age groups are 1-10, 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 plus.

Registration opens on June 16, 2026 and closes on September 26, 2026; the listed registration fee is $20. Packet pick-up is scheduled on the day of the race at the race site.
