JJ's Journey for a Cause
JJ's Journey for a Cause takes place May 31 to June 6, 2026 in Wendell, North Carolina at 320 Vintage Point Lane. The event offers both in person and virtual participation and is organized to raise funds for SIDS research and support for bereaved families.
Available distances include:
- 5 Miler
- 5K
- Kids Fun Run about 1 mile
- Virtual 5K
The Kids Fun Run is geared toward elementary school aged children, ideally ages 5 to 12. It is untimed; participants run as many laps as possible in a 20 minute period, with one lap approximately 0.33 miles. Color powder will be used on the course and a medal is awarded to all kids who participate.
Registration fees vary by event and increase 30 days prior to race day. The deadline to register for a guaranteed T shirt size is May 9, 2026. Packet pick up is offered at two pre race locations in Wendell and there is an option for packet pick up on race day.
Awards are presented by a local running store and include top three male and female overall, plus top male and female in standard age divisions from youth through 70 and older. All proceeds benefit First Candle to support bereaved families and SIDS research. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
