JJ's Journey for a Cause
JJ's Journey for a Cause is a multi-day running event held May 31 to June 6, 2026, in Wendell, North Carolina at 320 Vintage Point Lane. The event series includes several race options to accommodate in-person and remote participation.
The program features these events:

- Virtual 5K
- Kids Fun Run
The event is organized as a remembrance of the organizers' infant who died in 2021. All proceeds will support First Candle, an organization that assists bereaved families and supports efforts to reduce sudden infant death syndrome.
The Kids Fun Run is a color run aimed at elementary-aged children on a short course of less than one mile; ages 5 and under are listed as free. The Virtual 5K option allows participants to complete 3.1 miles between June 1 and June 7 and submit their time via the RaceJoy app. Awards will be presented to the top three male and female finishers overall and to top male and female finishers in standard age divisions from youth through 70 and over.
Packet pick up is available on pre-race dates at local Wendell locations and on race day. There is a deadline of May 9, 2026 to register for a guaranteed T-shirt size. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
