Jeppe Fun Run/Walk
The Jeppe Fun Run/Walk is a winter community event organised by Jeppe High School for Girls. The event offers a 5 km course around Kensington and is open to both runners and walkers. It is presented as a relaxed occasion that regularly includes families, push chairs and friendly pets. Entrants are encouraged to dress to the theme of the day, though this is not compulsory.
Parents and staff assist with marshaling and catering, and the Metro Police are present to support participant safety. There is food and drink available on the day. After the run, Grade 9 learners set up an Entrepreneurial Market on the lower grounds to sell their wares. The event was held for the eighth time in 2019. Organisers were unable to host the Fun Run/Walk in 2020 and 2021 due to lockdown restrictions related to the Covid19 pandemic.
