Jelm Mountain Run

Jelm Mountain Run in Jelm, Wyoming is a mountain road race featuring a 10 mile out and back course on improved jeep roads. The route gains more than 2,000 feet of elevation, beginning at approximately 7,618 ft and rising to about 9,656 ft at the Infrared Observatory on Jelm Mountain.

The course remains on road the entire time and does not use course markings. The route is roughly five miles uphill and five miles downhill. There are two aid stations: one located about halfway on the climb and one at the summit. Aid stations provide water and light snacks. Participants are asked to bring a personal water bottle, cup, or hydration bladder to reduce waste.

Registration via UltraSignup is available until September 10. General entry pricing for the 10 mile race is $55, with a price increase to $65 on September 1. A club member or partner club discount of $10 applies. Race day registration is available for cash or check at a higher fee; the price structure includes a Jelm hoodie with entry.

Proceeds from the event are donated to the Albany County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue. Awards include a free entry to Jelm 2026 and a unique local award for the top male and female, and awards for the top three in each age group. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
