About the race
The Java MTB & Trail Run Challenge is a combined mountain bike and trail running event held at Van Loveren Family Vineyards in Robertson, Western Cape on 28 November 2026. The event includes multiple trail run and MTB distances, live music, food vendors and a focus on community activities tied to International Pinotage Day. Entries include a bottle of Van Loveren wine and all finishers receive a medal. Proceeds from every entry will be directed to support a local school.
E-bikes are permitted on the 50 km MTB class but are not eligible for prizes. Organisers note that route profiles will be published later. Because Van Loveren continues to recover from recent floods, event staff are assessing route conditions before confirming final routes and details. Available distances and entry prices include: - 5 km Trail Run, R150 - 10 km Trail Run, R200 - 20 km Trail Run, R300 - 10 km MTB, R150 - 28 km MTB, R300 - 50 km MTB, R400 - E-Bike 50 km MTB, R400 The event presents a day at a vineyard setting with running and mountain biking options, food and music, and community fundraising through entry fees.
